Half-life

Some people say that work (and stuff related to work) accounts for half your time – whereas realists say it takes up all of your time. But you and I know there's more to work than work. At Pure Cobalt, work is like an alloy, an amalgamation of things. We don't draw any clear distinction between work and play. Our work feeds other parts of our lives and is in turn fed by them.

You'll find a few of the things that help keep our tanks topped up in Space and Spins.

The magazine rack
Wired, Wallpaper, ID, Business 2.0, NME, Interior Design, Wine Spectator all are sources of inspiration.

The espresso machine
It's a Bezzera Dal 1901 and it always gives us a needed jolt (caffeine and sound effects). Especially useful when mid-afternoon rolls round.

The art
We try to support the local art scene by renting (and sometimes buying) works by up-and-coming artists. Sharing space with these works of inspiration keeps us fresh and gives us new perspectives.

The couch and the whiteboard
They may seem innocuous, but these items are among our creative tools. The couch is the focal point of creativity in the office. The conversations that happen there are relaxed and free-roaming. The whiteboard is were the “perspiration” happens. It's where rough ideas take their final shape amid sharp debate.

Music
So important we even gave it its own section on this page: take a look at Spins.

Spins
Work at Pure Cobalt is backed with an ever-changing soundtrack to which every member of the team contributes. Music is part of the gestalt of who we are or something like that.
